Thank you for your valuable feedback

Hi everyone:

Thank you for your continuous feedback. As we did last week, we would like to address your top questions and keep you up-to-date on the new Yahoo! Groups experience. We appreciate your enthusiasm for Yahoo! Groups and look forward to receiving your continuous feedback.

 Please keep your feedback coming!

Why does the “@” symbol with the name of the user to whom I am replying sometimes appear?

The “@” symbol appears when you are replying to a reply within a message thread, but not when replying to the original message. That way, other users know to which message you are making a comment.

I placed my group in the Adult category to have extra privacy and security for my group. How can I have Chat enabled for my group?

Chat is not supported for Adult groups for legal reasons. Learn more about who can access Chat.

My group has been miscategorized as being an Adult group by mistake. How can I get this fixed?

If your group has been miscategorized, you will need to contact Customer Care to have it re-categorized. Learn more about  how to have your group properly categorized.

Are Message Numbers going to be available in the new experience?

We’ve heard the feedback on this issue loud and clear. Our team is looking into this one, but we don’t have a timeline yet.

I belong to a group that was abandoned by its owner. How can I become an owner of the group?

We understand that this is a major nuisance and are working on a streamlined process to make this easier for you. In the meantime, however, you will need to contact Customer Care in order to have a new owner nominated.

How can I hide the list of my group’s members in the new experience?

If you are an owner or moderator of a group, you can hide your list of group members in the new experience, just as you can in the current version. Simply go to to “Web Tools” under “Management” and change the Members option to “Off.”
