Following last week’s post on upcoming navigation improvements, we’ve completed a limited roll out of the “My groups” drop down menu. See below visual mock-ups of the navigation changes planned. Let us know what you think.
We’re trying to make browsing through messages easier by adding message filters.With this change, users would be easily switch between view by Messages, topic and hot topics.
Hot topics are topics that have attracted a lot of replies from members of the the group. User could easily identify and catch-up on topics and discussions, that they might have missed.
The re-order groups page is now working. Do try it and let us know if you still have issues.
Pls note that the new photos notification was not working for a few days and has since been fixed.
Groups.yahoo.com/ordergroups web page is broken, (in at least 3 browsers, IE, Firefox, and Safari). Is there another way to reorder groups without installing the yahoo toolbar?
Today it looks like the “new photos” feature is back – Yay !!!! Thankyou so much.
I like the direct access to groups, but I’d prefer it if you kept the original link in place. Or split that button so that My Groups is a direct link to the My Groups page, and the down arrow drops the list. I realize that Show All My Groups provides that link, but I’d prefer to preserve the one-click access we had before.
The little tooth-gear button is cute and all, but I don’t want you to remove the ID, email, and status information from their current placement above the group name and title. Hiding that information under a button will make it harder for me to help group members that are having trouble accessing my groups.
I really like the new navigation options – but please bring back the ‘New Photos’ on the group home page and in the user’s group list page. That link was very handy for the groups I’m a member of which have lots of photos posted. Thanks!
I like it A LOT! Settings and functions right there at your fingertips…just a click away! Very clean and sleek look, too! Yahoo! Groups has been needing an update for a LONG time. I hope you will be making more changes in the future. Thanks again.
