Hey Folks,
We’ve been working on some Message Design changes based on your feedback. Check out what our team has been working on at our Feedback Group and join us in a live conversation on November 9th from 4-5pm PST to share your perspective on Messages Redesign.
We would love to hear from you.
Yahoo! Groups Team.
Muchas Gracias por la información.
Saludos a todos ustedes.
you are sending these messages full of html, which is automatically blocked by my email program, for security reasons – all I see is blocks of gray, just before I hit the delete button – most mailings like this have a “view in your browser” or similar link at the top in order to overcome this problem
I have only recently realised that i can delete old posts. So, say, something more than a couple of months old that I have forgotten about, no-one had one, no-one was interested or it got disposed of by another means etc,
It would be really helpful if people deleted obsolete stuff because than there is a lot less to search through and I presume all these postings are taking up space that could be better used. I found if i put my name in it would bring up all the stuff i had posted. Is everyone aware of this facility?
What I can’t do is change a listing and sometimes i have wanted to do that. Is there a reason that shouldn’t be done?
Are Message Numbers going to be available in the new experience?
Hi all,
I want to let you know that I’ve created a more readable copy of the Y-Group Chat transcript from November 9th and uploaded it into the Files section on my group.
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/modsandmembers/
It’s in a Folder called Y-Groups Test Groups CHATS, and accessible by members and non-members.
I color-coded it, spaced it out better and put the times in alignment to the right. Some of the times are missing, but hopefully that won’t matter. I also included the remainder of the people who stayed and chatted afterwards, since you can still go into the Chat room on Y-groups and read it.
Anyway, feel free to access this file instead of the posts on either group.

I am new to this blog, but i searched for “unicode” and there was not one reference. My question is, when will Yahoo! become Unicode compliant? I run hundreds of groups in other languages and the interface is not at all consistent. For example, the Group Description. How can i put in “foreign” characters without them being garbled?
If you have solutions for this i would really appreciate some clues.
Thank you.
Some members prefer a version (Classic or new) other than the group owner prefers. If an owner prefers the new version (or yahoo makes the new version default for new groups and an owner doesn’t care), on groups where I’m an ordinary member I need an option to use Classic even if the default interface for the group is new. And vice versa: possibly few of my members like the new interface. In the beginning of September I could access any group via the new interface by substituting `groups.yahoo.com` with `new.groups.yahoo.com` in URL. I.e. the possibility already exists. So, please make a `classic.groups.yahoo.com` site for members who want or need to use Classic on groups where the owner prefers New. After you deem most bugs fixed, make the `new.groups.yahoo.com` site accessible for members who want it. Then everybody will be happy.
Yes, some articles would require re-designing. Often some writers wouldn’;t know what the shortcomings are in their own articles. These could be pointed out only by an outsider. I think this is so only during his/her early
days of writing. Once they become experts, no outsider’s advice comments would be needed because they could then proof read very well..
How do I stop Yahoo Groups from sending me ‘Yahoo Group Updates’?
How do I find information on Yahoo Help that allows me to tailor what I receive?
How do I find that information without spending inordinate amounts of time trying to locate it?
In the past I would have tried to search through your website to try to find an answer – usually unsuccessfully. Which is why I don’t bother anymore. Rarely has my searches been fruitful – but always frustrating.
Blog are equally frustrating. I don’t have time to read through page upon page in search of some link that might (but won’t) help.
The only reason I joined Yahoo groups is to read the stupid postings – I could care less about “seeing” their junk ‘For sale’. Receiving “Updates’ should be an ‘opt in’ choice, not ‘opt out’.
Why “web 2.0″ is used for Messages? What’s the reason?
For what do you create incompatibility with many browsers (especially in handheld devices) and blind members’ screen reader software?
What’s the goal?
re “Updates In Your Group” message.
Every day, it contains updates for Groups I do not belong to.
??? 2-3am CET Chatting without Europe?
Great !!!
