Update: The maintenance finished on schedule and all systems should be functioning normally with one exception: some users may be experiencing intermittent errors on pages with CAPTHA. In other words attempts to join groups, create groups, or add new members to existing groups may fail. Our team is working towards resolving this issue. In the interim if you try more than once, you should be able to successfully complete these flows.

I wanted to give you a heads-up. On Monday, August 9 from 2-5pm Pacific Standard time, (22:00-01:00 GMT)Yahoo! Groups will conduct some tests to comply with our annual Business Continuity Planning Certification (BCP).
BCP ensures that, should we suffer a major technical outage, we can minimize the impact on your groups by quickly switching to a fully operational copy of the site in another location.
Per your suggestions and comments on our previous blog posts, I wanted to inform you ahead of time, as there may be a brief period of errors on your group’s homepage. Some groups might also experience message-posting delays for up to 2-3 hours.
There is a possibility that messages in a few groups will be queued up and delivered at a later time, but don’t worry our team is working hard to decrease this possibility.
We expect the maintenance to be complete and all systems performing normally again by 5 pm.

Patty S: I am sorry the engineers and Customer Care could not be more detailed right now–we are indeed working on it–very long hours I promise you, and I am really keeping my fingers crossed it will be fixed soon–but we are not sure of the exact time–hang in there, give it another week. Thank you
Apparently this is NOT the case. We created this new list on Yahoo Groups about 4 weeks ago, and since its inception, we have not been able to use the Message Search feature. Sent an email to Yahoo Customer Care. After reading through numerous paragraphs of apologies, the answer was “engineers were investigating our issue”. I have sent numerous requests for more info. Finally pried out that this is now an issue with new Yahoo Groups and that the engineers were “still investigating” with no timeline for a fix available. I have heard zero about new groups now having Message search issues anywhere! Is this truly an issue? Will there be a fix in sight? We rely heavily on this feature with this type of group. Can you please tell me this will be fixed soon? What gives? Though the Message search issue was resolved

Hi, I received a complaint from Paul Craig who has been a zealous member on the Julia-Fischer launch-group board for many years. His name (paulcraig8) has been deleted for no apparent reason. Could this be due to your repair work? Please let me know, as I feel involved as one of the group owners.

hi, im just wondering if anyone else is having the problem im having. Everytime i post my wanted add i get nothing but replies to go to a buzzfly site, they are always the same message and the same picture but from diffferent people. Then they dont respond when i write them back. Anyone else having this happen?

Yes…*yes*…Yes, Layla!! –You’ve given us timely notification; updates on the progress of the downage/outage; and a frank admission that not everything was fixed yet when you were hoping it’d be. Nobody’s stonewalling, nobody’s claiming that the issue’s resolved before it actually has been. All right, Layla!! I’m liking this better today than I have in quite some time. I’m vocal enough when I don’t like what’s going on…but I also make noise when someone gets it right.

All contact lists are now merged into UNFILED contacts. Will it recover to its original lists or did I lost them?

I see my groups ok, but its way past 5 pm and I still don’t see two posts that were made hours ago. Hope this ends soon. Not fun. Hope this doesn’t also effect my email service.

I am also locked out of my group … keep getting code 9997 … would this be because of the Solar Flare that should be hitting the Earth about now? … If this is how things are going to be during a small storm, I wonder what will happen when we really get nailed?
I am worried-a couple of my groups are missing! Completely gone! Are they coming back? I suspect it is due to the work being done right now?
