Bug update: Digests being sent out after 2 messages
UPDATE: This issue has been resolved.
We’ve been made aware of the fact that users who have their mail settings set to “digest” are currently receiving digests after just two or three messages. Typically digests are sent out at the close of the day, or, once the group hits 25 messages– whichever comes first.
The team is aware of the issue and is currently working on a fix. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime, please accept our apologies for the truncated digests.

Every time I post 2 messages, they go out as a digest. My subscribers are furious!

I subscribe to several “digests.” Because the “digests” today contain only 2 messages, I’m receiving 12 times as many messages in my email.
I am Not Happy about this. First the Search function dropped out for several months. Then photos went weird.
Can’t Yahoo just make the thing WORK? God knows I look at enough of the ads (esp. for gardening) to support my habit!
Make it WORK plain before trying to go FANCY. Jeez.

Claire, I hear ya. It’s annoying, but it’s just email. Delete it. This is a free service. The Yahoo folks could leave it broke ’til tomorrow morning and not suffer all that much reputation damage (I wouldn’t risk it, but I’m just sayin’…).
Here’s a script you can send your users:
“Dear daily digest users: Yahoo is working on the problem of too-frequent emails. In the meantime, you can delete the emails as they come in and make a note to visit the group’s homepage to catch up on messages. The groups are functioning well otherwise.”
(Yahoo folks: Don’t ever just say “In the meantime, accept our apologies.” You need to provide an alternative [see script above]. Always give a work-around, even if it’s unwieldy. That’s the way to keep customers happy. Customers are accustomed to roadblocks and detours; Keep your signs nice and repave the road quickly, and we’ll ride with you.)

I have now started receiving e-mails in HTML code which look like spam when they come into my In-Boxfrom “Sento” and then a number. The Reply to Group link is now also missing from the e-mails.

I switched from separate messages to digest yesterday or the day before and received nothing at all….so I just switched back to individual messages. I would like to get them in a digest if I would get them, though.

The digest issue seems to have been fixed – we are getting normal digests again, BUT we have a new issue – delayed mail! Is this a widespread issue or do you need names of specific groups sent to customer service?

Here is the IP address 41.191.16.66 with this IP address someone is posting porn mails using my Yahoo ID in Yahoo groups. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated. On searching this IP leads to this site http://aradb.com

I have been trying to join the Mobile FreeCycle group for almost a year now. I go to the groups site, and I sign up, and now it show that it is PENDING, but I never receive anything telling me that I have been approved/confirmed/whatever. Can someone please tell me what to do??

This is for Jasmine, nov. 10 2009 3:40pm. You can Google by inserting “Who is” and then the ip address. This should give you a lead to who is useing your ip. Anouther thing to look at if you are useing a wireless router, to not leave you ip address open for the public. Secure it by following the instructions with the unit you have. This will also stop some of phishing going on. “People attempting to gather you info, or leap frogging over you.” Hope this will help.

Hi Tim, Thank you for the advice. BTW, my yahoo account has been disabled because I sent the above said mail to yahoo abuse. I don’t know how they could not see it that it was not my IP address. I am completely devastated. I never sent porn emails in any groups.
Is it possible for you to look at it and restore my yahoo email ID?

Actually they are not using my IP address but they are giving an impression as if they are using it. They are somehow manipulating the yahoo system to send emails. I mean my ID is only showing in their from and to address but the emails are originating from somewhere else. my IP address is different and it has nothing to do with wireless or anything.
