Groups mail delivery: Hotmail & yahoo.sg accounts
Users with Hotmail and @yahoo.com.sg accounts may be experiencing difficulties when trying to send or receive group emails. We’re aware of both of these issues and are working to resolve them.
Hotmail: users may be experiencing delays when receiving group emails.
@yahoo.com.sg: Some users with @yahoo.com.sg accounts are reporting that they’re not receiving all messages. UPDATE: This issue has been resolved. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact Customer Care.

ATTN YG TEAM: Groups apparently has become broken for the second time in as many days. Beginning at about 2:45 PM PDT today (10/12/09), I have been unable to approve messages or access the Links and Files area of at least 2 groups that I own and moderate (PrivateWirelessForum and LMR_Narrowbanding). In addition, “No Activity” is shown on groups where there in fact has been activity. “Access to pending messages is temporarily unavailable” is shown on the message approval page. “Network transmission problem” is displayed on the Links page. “File access is currently unavailable. Please try again later.” on the Files page. “Pending Tasks are currently unavailable.” on the Management page. I use FF 3.5 as my primary browser. Thanks in advance once again for your prompt attention to this matter.

We’ve been plagued with delay issues off and on for almost 2 months now. The problems normally surface on the weekends, usually friday. The routine goes something like this. Noon friday, posts made from mail are delayed up to an hour or disappear, posts made from the site are delayed 30min-an hour, I contact customer care. I get an automated response that someone will contact me within 24 hours.
24 hours later (noon saturday) I get a message saying my issue has been ‘escalated’ and I will get a response within 24 hours.
22 hours later (sunday 10am) someone in tech support asks me if I have contacted my ISP regarding the issue. now if posts from the site (a yahoo account) aren’t being delivered to the group (a yahoo account) why would I contact my ISP. I normally answer with a “You are the ISP” and additional long headers to go with the ones I’ve already sent.
22 hours later (8 am monday) I receive a notice that the issue has been resolved and posting/delivery resumes as normal.
Now I ask you; why in the name of all that is holy does it take 3 entire days to resolve this issue when it happens nearly every single weekend and it’s obvious that someone in Customer care knows what the issue is, how to resolve it and that it can’t possibly be the fault of my ISP?
I’ve just begun this whole fracas again today and I’m sick of it.

I agree with you Nienna. I get the same automated Yahoo answer.
I started sending my emails through my “email group contacts”, but I would rather use Yahoo groups, if this continues, I will go back to using my email contact group again.
I know we do not pay for Yahoo service, and I try to be patient because of that, but come on, give me a break!

Yahoo’s income is derived primarily through advertising. If there were no groups or mail or any of the other ‘free’ services Yahoo provides then there would be no reason for us to come here, and therefore, no reason to advertise though Yahoo. While I understand that problems crop up from time to time and no system is perfect I find the lack of regard from customer care insulting at best.
My group has effectively shut down from delays and clearly we won’t be looking at any ads over the weekend. I wonder if Yahoo is accurately representing that fact to their advertisers who are paying good money to show me ads I’m not seeing.

At last, Yahoo must have corrected the problem because since last night, my messages post almost as soon as I send them. No delays so far, so I am a happy person today. Keep it going, yahoo!

Yeah, me too Sue. Ironically I just got my response from Customer Care telling me they’re escalating my issue.

WHAT IN HOLY HECK DID YOU PEOPLE DO??? Yahoo groups now won’t upload pics. Either its really slow or like error uploads. -___- you guys need to learn to fix one problem without screwing up the rest of the yahoo group things.

has anyone else had a problem with people being able to join your group without being approved?? my group is set up so that people have to be approved for membership .. but now tonight there was someone able to join directly without approval ?? what the heck??? i dont like this at all !!!

Is anyone having difficulty with there Live e-mail address? I keep getting an error message that reads, “invalid e-mail address.” It is quite frustrating after filling out a long form to finally submitting your e-mail address to only have it rejected.

I have my group set up to receive automatic periodic reminders, plus automatic responses to new members. For some time now, these have not been going out. I have checked the settings. Why has this feature stopped working?

I am the owner of Buzzcuts2 group. My moderator, who has an AOL email address has made several postings to the group over the last five days that he has had to repost because, although they appear as posted in the messages log, nobody receives them. Once he reposts them, we get them. Please advise if this is related to the existing issue.
