Updates and Safari
Several of you have reported that when using Safari on a Mac the new “Updates” feature within your groups you’re unable to get past the pop-up to post your message.
If this is happening to you, here’s how you can solve the problem:
Upgrade Safari
This “persistent pop-up” is only happening with the beta version of Safari (3.0.4). To upgrade your browser, please go here: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ or, click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and click on “Software Update” to check for the latest version of Safari.
Disable the update prompts
To do this, go to the My Groups page: http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups and click on “Edit My Groups.” From here, you can manually change your updates settings, or, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and change all of the settings for the groups on that page, at once. (Click on the image below to enlarge)
Or, you can always post via email.
If you’ve made these changes and are still having trouble, or, are using a browser other than Safari and are having this problem, please be sure to report these issues to Customer Care.

Hi! I wanted to let your group know about an amazing project involving families who have a member with Down syndrome. It’s called the T21 Traveling Afghan Project and you can read all about it on the project website.
In short, one afghan is traveling from family to family all over the US and many other countries! Each family keeps it for a week and passes it on to another. The journey is chronicled on the project blog, as well as our Facebook Group!
Thanks!

I sometimes use Safari to log on to Yahoo. Today (08/24/09), I went to post a message on a group I belong to, using Safari. I could type the message just fine, but could not post the message. I could reply from my email just fine, but am not able to post messages while at the goup.

I am trying to post pictures to an album. I put all the pictures on, title them and then when I go to apply, a popup occurs on the bottom, off the screen which apparently is the key to applying the pictures.
I do not have safari. I see the question on here, but no answers.
and they have safari. What gives?

Okay, I am not even using a Mac and I am getting the exact same issue!!! So if I am not using FireFox or Safari then what can I do to fix this problem? It isn’t even consistant. I can post pictures on one of the groups I am a part of, but not on another!
Please, someone tell me how to resolve this issue, it is REALLY annoying.

Seems no one really cares at yahoo…there’s been so much response to this problem!
I, too, am having this issue with trying to post photos in my group and getting the pop-up. The whole screen goes gray and can’t click on anything. I am using Internet Explorer 8 on a Windows 7 machine. Please?????

I can upload jpgs to my photo albums but I can’t change the photo displayed
on my front page group photo for some reason all of a sudden, I did that every month for the last five years using the browse add photo function
on the edit description edit photo page, When I click add photo it just gives me the “you have reached an adult group” accept-dont accept clicker, I click accept and I go to the group facepage and nothing changed, Hunh? I want to change my group picture, How do I do that now?

@Jim in Texas,
We’re aware of the issue and are working on a fix– check out the most recent post: http://www.ygroupsblog.com/blog/2010/01/31/photo-upload-issues/
We’ll update that post as soon as we have a resolution.
A few users have noticed that multiple attempts at uploading resolves the issue (which we KNOW is a pain, but if it’s urgent that you get that one photo up, it might be worth the hassle in the meantime).
Thanks for your patience.
