I’ve found a bug in the way links to stored attachments are built. I’ve reported it to Yahoo, but in the meantime please suggest to your members that they not use blanks in the file names of any attachments they send to the group. See:

My group membership has been cut in half due to the lack of a fourth option that has been posted 153 times above me. Not sure why you wouldn’t allow that. My group has been going since 2002 but I am about ready to send a mass email out to my membership appologizing for wasting their time and suggesting they join another, more useful group… I am very disapointed.

I belong to a Yahoo group, and I used to be able to send emails from the group with attachment added, just like in any normal email. But now, I am unable to add attachments with my email.
I can’t even find the “Attach” button? Your “Help” link says to simply add the attachments to the message and send, but it doesn’t explain how or where to find the attachment button.
I guess this problem is caused by the new format? I am just a normal member. Please help.

I am very disappointed that no one from yahoo reads these posts. It is so clear that users want a fourth option of having attachments both in emails and on the site.
From the first day the change took place in March, folks have posted requests to add the fourth option. Yahoo management has not posted one answering reply to all of the postings and the sincere frustration being expressed. Why???
Six months and no response.

I don’t have a problem with just attaching to emails only but what ever Yahoo
did to the attachments stinks. I have been the “Owner” for lack of a better word, of our Heat Transfer board for close to 8 years and this is the worst I have ever seen. It worked great before Yahoo started jacking with it again. We have a lot of seasoned folks on our board and they have the same problems. Sometimes it will open on the 2nd or 3rd try and sometimes it won’t open at all. I and our board would like to see it go back to the old attachment form that we were using with no problems. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go back to the old system. Thank you and have a BLESSED weekend.

I did all of the above and I still get the messsage:

Get quota failed
You do not have rights to perform this operation : 105

The other people in my group can post attachments, I am the only one not able to.. dos anyone have any other advice???

You don’t have that option. People have been asking for the 4th option for months, and Yahoo isn’t listening. They said they were looking into it but that was several months ago. I think it’s becoming clear that Yahoo has no intention of including that option, or they would have done so from the start. The complaints continue to fall on deaf ears.

If you want that option, I would seriously consider Google Groups. Attachtments are stored at the site and sent out with the emails. I have attachments archived in my groups from as far back as 2005, with no imposed storage limits. I doubt you’ll ever get that with Yahoo.They do what they want, and they have a long track record of not listening to their users.

I’ve closed all my Yahoo Groups and moved to Google Groups, and I’m very satisfied with them.

Attachments
o Store on site (exclude from emails)
o Include in emails (exclude from site)
o Exclude from site and emails

I want to be able to * STORE ON SITE & INCLUDE in EMAILS *
