When such a situation happens it would be nice if it was also posted to the YG Help page under the heading “Top Known Issues and Announcements” to prevent wide-spread panic.

Yes or to the group owners. The Bouncing management page has stuffed up again too.
Please fix it!

I tried to use the share button to share this message with Yahoo! Buzz readers, but it seems that my entry has disappeared from Buzz seconds after I posted it.
If YG Management does not want us to share this message with others, why are we provided with a Share button?

Is that also the reason why the approval of my membership is taking so long?
RosL said,

2 Days ago, I couldn’t get into ANY of the group pages (except the home page where it was offering me the opportunity to join!) of one group I moderate, I was recognised, though. The Hi, Ros message was in the top right corner.
Ordinary members could access, but I couldn’t get in at all, and couldn’t complete a Customer Care form either because although all the questions showed, the compulsory fields weren’t there!
Oh dear, Yahoo, you are having some serious problems!

Besides not being able to access the management section I have noticed a marked delay in delivery of messages to the boards in the past few days. This includes messages that are needing approval as well as replies to posts.

The Database is gone, they contain all the tracking information of books from publishers and books out to reviewers. This is vital information that could result in legal actions from the publishers. What is the problem ? and can it be restored ? when ????

A lot of my members depend on this service nowadays.
I would appreciate a response from you as soon as possible so that I can at least let my members know what was wrong when its finally been sorted out.
Is it to do with the moving of data centers?

@Abe,
When I pull up your group, it shows that you deleted the group at 2:33pm. Did you mean to delete the group? If not, let me know and I can restore it for you. If so, that’s why you can’t access the management pages.

When is the group site going to be fixed? My group site not only does not recognize me as the manager, it doesn’t recognize me at all. When I sign on all it allows me to do is read recent messages. I can not respond to or compose mail. It just keeps asking me for my password. When I sign on Yahoo (not the group site) it recognizes me and allows me to respond to the mail. What gives? This really needs to be fixed soon.

Despite the announcement that moderator access has allegedly been restored, I still don’t have access to my groups.
I can’t moderate the groups I own. The fact that I can’t access other groups of which I’m a member is mildly annoying, but the fact that I can’t approve new messages is a PROBLEM.
What do I do now??

It is now April 3, 2009 – 2:00 am in the morning. I have been trying to access my group “HaysvilleFarmandGardenNews” now for several hours. I am the Owner. I set this up yesterday and today decided to go to the manager section and Boom. It already wouldn’t let me access as Owner the Management of my Group. I don’t see any messages from Yahoo that they are working on this problem. Is the message I seen for a Week Ago, or was it for Now – THat the management problem had been solved. I notice there is no DATE connectied with the message! God what a mess. Glad I didn’t start this group a few months ago and I only have 13 members – and I got them all today!
Anyone else having this problem on this fine April 3, 2009 morning? If you see this message we need to communicate together. My virtual address is RobertLee97@ Gmail.Com.
Notice I didn’t use Yahoo Mail. It probably would have been “lost”. Isn’t this a mess?

@Esmond Pitt,
Please report this issue/file a formal issue with customer care (@Baruch Sienna too) so we can investigate the issue further.
It means the pages were restored at roughly 12:30.
You may do this at: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/members/forms/forms_index.html

Sorry, Proxy Error.
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /group/cavintage/manage.
Reason: Could not connect to remote machine: Connection refused
Please check the URL for proper spelling and capitalization. If you’re having trouble locating a destination on Yahoo!, try visiting the Yahoo! home page or look through a list of Yahoo!’s online services. Also, you may find what you’re looking for if you try searching below.

Again we have a posting by the central that PST is 7hrs behind GMT
Once both UK and US are on the same time (DST/Summer time resp) then the difference between SFO and LON is 8 hrs and not more or less. PST should be compared with UTC/GMT at the standard time difference.
However, PDT is to be compared with UTC (+7) or, better, the now applicable BST +8.
Whatever Pacific Standard Time is ALWAYS UTC/GMT -8 and times are best given in 24hr clock times as New Zealand and Australia are considerably in advance. Locals shld be able to work out their local time
(See http://www.timeanddate.com)

I have come to the conclusion Yahoo has no idea what they are doing nor do they even care. I keep e-mailing them and posting on the blog, but there is no reply. I would love to write them from my Yahoo account, but it just keeps asking me for my password without giving me the opportunity to post or read my e-mail. This is for both my group account as well as my personal account. I am the manager of our group account which means I can not act on accepting new members or post messages for our members. This has been going on for two months. I see where other members have had this issue so I know I am not alone. Do you have any idea what is going on? Should I just forget that Yahoo even exists?

I have been trying to replace the homepage photo for my group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rhlooms/) for the past 3 hours, and keep getting this error message:
“Groups Error
error
An unknown error occurred on the Yahoo! Groups server.”
Everything else seems to work, management-wise – I can change the text on the home page, I’ve changed the color scheme, and I was able to remove the photo that had been up – but can’t upload a new one. I tried uploading a different photo – no difference. I tried loading the photo into my photo album at the group and it zipped right in.
Please advise, as apparently not all of the ‘management issues’ have been resolved.

Hi Mary,
Go here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPNAME/management/view
Please insert your groups’ name where it says “YOURGROUPNAME”
And then click “delete,” which will take you here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPNAME/delete
Please be sure that you want to delete your group before proceeding. If you wish to keep the group name (in case you want to restart it) you should first change the group name BEFORE you delete it (I always add –DELETE) at the end of the name before actually deleting. If you do not change the name you will not be able to restart a new group with the same name for 120+ days.
To rename your group, please go here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/YOURGROUPNAME/settings?mode=2 (remember to replace YOURGROUPNAME with your actual group’s name)
