I'm in one group where the mod continuously changes my settings from web only to special notices, and trust me, her notices are NOT that special. No reason I couldn't read them on the web, they're not emergencies. I would get her tossed out for it but no one at Yahoo has ever even answered my question about whether her rude behavior is legit or not . . .
