It’s my pleasure to present to you the new Yahoo! Groups blog! This is the place to be to stay up to date on the latest Yahoo! Groups news, creative uses of Groups features, and tips to make your own group great. Sometimes we’ll announce bug fixes, workarounds, or new features. Other times we’ll share some of our favorite stories from the community or highlight the cream of the crop in The Best of Yahoo! Groups pages.

Nice transitional steps. When will Beta be the new Yahoogroups? I like the stuff in the Beat Yahoogroups, but I cant wait till all the features will be running at top notch.

You know, I (and others) have tremendous brand loyalty so it really takes alot to drive us away. When you work with us like this, it is like cratchin a puppy’s tummy!
I am still kickin myself for downloading the Yahoo IM for Vista (time out for snarlin at Vista)but still I was so tickled to get the invite to the Beta and I SO love my Yahoo IM with my Music channel I could not resist. What you guys are doing here is even better!
I did national disater response for about 10 years and the one thing that you can take to the bank, that I use in all my business practices, is when change is gonna happen, keeping the rabble informed (us -g) can make all the difference to the buy-in success or not. It becomes even more critical when the follow up mistakes and problems happen after event introduction.
The other element is that I tried to add the yahoo to my My Page and it doesnt work page just goes all 404 with no error message. So Please repost and let us(me know when the Yahoo module addition is fixed.
(It is STILL unbelieveable to me, that I love My Yahoo page so much that after ten years I replaced my Drudge Home page with that!)

Hey – RSS support, FINALLY! What took you so long
I’d love to see RSS in the groups as well, but I’m not so sure how authentication against the feeds are handled. Many groups have so much traffic that RSS seems like the only logical way to consume it’s content. Email or web-only just don’t cut it most of the time.
Anyway – keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing what comes of this.

Hi,
Group owner/moderator of quite a few groups, including one listed on the “Best Of Yahoo! Groups”.
Is this what is going to replace the current 360 format?
I’ll have to check it out a bit more to see whether or not I like it.

I own three groups and belong to Moderator Central. I am really liking the new changes, on here, and elsewhere in Yahoo. I just need some tips on getting new members to my Yahoo Groups. Alot of my previous members have gone.

I am moderator on a couple of groups and owner of one.
The RSS feature will be a nice feature for a lot of groups but it is hard to understand why you decided to ditch your own yahoo format for this; shouldn’t someone think about fixing what you have? Will you be going back?

I’m glad this blog finally has a search. Too bad it doesn’t have a list view of the entries though.
How about carrying forward Carole’s Mythbusting post, or better yet, make an updated one?
A good topic for mythbusting would be the Groups spam filter. There are a lot of myths about it, but few facts. Is it a content filter? Does it actually train? Is the training per group or spread over all groups? Does it take into account the “From” address? Some wonder why messages of identical content keep coming through despite having been previously “Delete as spam”d. Some wonder why valid messages from group members are persistently marked as spam.

Bit of a party pooper here. I co-own a 2000+ member list and own and moderate several other special interest smaller ones. I’m not quite sure what the benefits are of this over Moderator Central. I just want to know, preferaby by email, when there’s planned down time, or whether known problems with lists are being fixed, so I can tell my members. I get a stack of mail every day about things I want to know about, so how would knowing about other people’s lists improve my life? I don’t need more members and I certainly don’t need to belong to more lists. Convince me. (Oh darn, I’d have to come back here for that.)

Charmaine – Unfortunately, I don’t have any updates on the Groups Beta, including transition details, at this time. You can bet that as soon as we do have updates and details to share, we’ll post about here on the Groups blog – so stay tuned.
Goodone – “The new Yahoo! Groups! Blog needs a name in its xml rss feed syntax”, thanks for the heads up, I am working on correcting this (it’s not as simple as I would have thought – at least for me).
CJ Anderson – I appreciate your moving over here with us to the new home of the Groups blog. Please note that the blog is hosted by Yahoo! Small Business, so you can rest assured that you are maintaining loyalty to Yahoo! Thanks for all the great tips you offer as well, they are very much appreciated. Sidd – I agree with you and I was originally pursuing a different URL for the blog but very few Yahoo! product blogs are permitted to use yahoo.com in the URL so I took what I could get.
Shal – In addition to the Recent Posts, I have the ability to archives of posts by month – would you find that beneficial? Thanks for the suggestion for an updated “mythbusting” post, I’ll work on this. I am also planning on migrating more of the content from the previous blog over to this one (I don’t want the valuable resources to be lost).

Hi Jami,
I noted when looking for “Mythbusting” that it was unnecessarily tedious to page through all the posts to this blog. Hence the suggestion for a “List View” in the manner of the 360 blog. But on the other hand, since this blog has search maybe I don’t need that at all.
Archive by month would probably good, especially if it makes it easy to browse the titles (without having to page through all the body and comments).

I don’t know where else to post issues so I’m going to do so here. In the past year something changed where the person sending a message does not receive it back themselves as they used to. As a result the sender believes that it did not post and sends it again resulting in duplicate messages. How do we change this back to even the sender receiving the email message? I have a large group and this duplication of emails is becoming a big deal. It used to work fine but changed and I’ve asked this question numerous times but have never received an answer.

( لو خليت قلبت ) .
المسلمين والعرب منذ مئات السنين يطلق عليهم لفظة الهمج كناية صهيونية تم تعميمها في ارجاء اوربا في الوقت الذي كان العربي مسلما او مسيحيا يشرف اهلهم واهل اهلهم حتى اخر ( عرج فيهم ) وهذه الكناية ناخذها من رباعيات المشعوذ ( نوستر اداموس ) للدلالة على تاريخ نشؤء مثل هذه الاحقاد ضد العرب والمسلمين ؟
لاتفرق هذه الشعوب بين الطالح والصالح وبين السئ والجيد بمجرد ان يرتكب احد ابناء جلدة ما سيئة انبرت هذه الشعوب باحتقار ابناء جلدته عنوة وهواية مقيتة تبعث على الغثيان .
بن لادن اقسم انا والكثيرين انه غير مسلم لكن هويته تقول انه مسلم وانا هنا ايضا اشير الى طاغية العراق انه غير مسلم وهو مسلم على على بطاقة هويته الشخصية فقط. كما هو الحال في تركيا الفتية كما يطلقون عليها. تركيا اتاتورك اليهودي الاصل عشيق القومندان ( حكمت ) احدى ابرز من شاركه في تحرير تركيا ولها نصف تمثال في احد ساحات استنبول اعتزازا بها وهي ايضا يهودية كما مدون عن سيرتها اسفل التمثال .وتحولت تركيا الى دولة علمانية نكاية باعمال السلاطين العثمانين سئ الصيت والسمعة وليس خدمة للواقع التركي العام واطيافه المتعددة انما خدمة لليهود . يهود النبي زبي مسيح ذاك الزمن الاغبر كما كان مسيح اخر قد قام قبله وهو عراقي ويدعى موسى التكريتي .
هؤلاء في الهوية اسلام وفي الحقيقة يهود وهم الان يحكمون تركيا ويسيطرون على اعلامها واقتصادها وكل حجر فيها الخ؟
ان الحقد والكراهية التي اشاعتها فعلة بن لادن حيث قبل نسب تفجير برجي التجارة لنفسه واعوانه كذبا وبهتانا ضربت في العمق العربي الاسلامي معنى الارهاب وانتشرت هذه الكنية وباضت احقاد وكراهية لامثيل لهما ضد كل ماهو عربي ومسلم ( العرب المسيحين وكل الاطياف التي تتحدث العربية ) لم ينجوا احد من هذا الحقد الاعمى الذي انتشر في ارجاء الكرة الارضية ضدهم والدليل المعاملة التي يتلقاها كل من المسلم والمسيحي والاقليات الناطقة بالعربية في كل مطارات اوربا واميريكا وباقي الارجاء كندا استراليا الخ كذلك الامر للايرانين من منخوليا الخميني الاعجب ( الذي طرده الطاغية من العراق بسبب ….؟ ) اتجهت الكراهية لكل مسلمي العالم سنة وشيعة على حد سواء دون اي تفريق وخميني كان يجوب الاراضي الفرنسية برفقة حارس شخصي ليبي دون ان تمسه يد المخابرات الانكلواميريكية وهو يزمع خلع اكبر عملائها في الشرق الاوسط وفي دولة من اكبر المنتجين للنفط . في حين حورب مصدق لمجرد طرده للشاه واراد تغير نظام الحكم وتم القضاء على محاولته بين ليلة وضحاها بواسطة المخابرات الانكلواميريكية والتقارير المخابراتية التي اطلق سراحها من السرية الى العلانية هي الشاهد الذي لايدحض في هذا الموضوع ؟ ومن هنا يبدا سؤالنا لو كان الخميني مسلما حقيقيا وثوريا حقيقيا هل كان بوسعه ان يعيش بهذه الحرية في قلب دولة اوربية دون ان تناله يد الغضب الاعمى المخابرت الانكلواميريكية ؟
اذا نحن امام اخطبوط من الشخصيات المجندة لخدمة اغراض المستعمرين والذين استخدموا كطعم للاساءة الى كل مسلمي العالم والى كل عربي في العالم والدليل الاخر اسامة وشلته حرروا افغانستان بتجنيد وتمويل ولوجستيات انكلو اميريكية ملعونة ؟
الشعوب الغربية والاميريكية ليس لهم هم الاطلاع على مايجري حولهم ولا بين ظهرانيهم ولا في العالم كما ان معلوماتهم الجغرافية والتاريخية صفر على الشمال حتى ابرز علمائهم يفتقرون لهذه المعلومات التي يبزهم فيها ابن السنة العاشرة من العرب والمسلمين في ارجاء الوطن العربي لان همهم الاول والاخير العمل والعمل فقط ليتحرروا من اسر الضرائب التي تتراكم على رؤسهم ؟ لذا هم اسرى اعلامهم للاسف الشديد كما البعث العراقي هو حزب علماني في نشاءته الا ان ابن ازقة الشواكة اعلن انه حزب مسلم حتى حول دين مؤسسه ( ميشيل عفلق ) الذي كان يحتجزه طيلة هذه السنين حتى وفاته من مسيحي الى مسلم واطلق على نفسه القائد المؤمن او العبد المؤمن وحملته الايمانية كانت شوكة في خاصرة الاسلام ليس في العراق وانما في العالم كله وكلنا نعرف ان احدى نظريات البعث الاساسية وهي احدى ركائز اجندة البعث ( ان الله انعكاس خيالي لضعف الانسان امام الطبيعة ) بمعنى ان البعث غير مؤمن ؟ اضافة الى انه كان يمول حركات الارهاب في العالم العربي والمسلم والشعب العراقي ينوء تحت طائلة الجوع والحاجة وسؤء الخدمات ومن مظاهر الاخربة التي كانت تنتشر في ارجاء الوطن لا لخدمة هذه الحركات الاسلامية مثل حماس وغيرها انما لاحتوائها لاجنحته المقيته ؟
كل هذه الاسباب والعوامل عززت الكراهية ضد مسلمي العالم والانكى من هذا وذاك ثورية الضفدعة قذافي الذي احتوى ودرب ومول وحرض كل ارهابي العرب ( الذين يكنون بالاسلام كذبا وبهتانا ) وقاد كل عمليات اختطاف الطائرات ووالخ والبشير وعلي عبدالله صالح كل هؤلاء رؤسائنا حكامنا في الزمن الضائع الذين توسدوا الحكم علينا عن طريق مشبوه وبطريقة غريبة مشبوهة ايضا جاؤا حاملين اجندة الثورية والوحدة والاشتراكية شعارات براقة تتلهف عليها الجماهير العربية شعارات خداعة لااساس لها في الواقع ووقتنا اليوم وهم في دسوت السلطة في اوج ثمالتهم بها دليل على غشهم وكذبهم وعدم انتمائهم لمثل هذه الشعارات انما كانوا اداة بيد الصهيونية والمستعمرين البغاة وعن طريقهم توسدوا السلطة ؟
المسلم صدام وبن لادن والقذيفي الضفدعة الخضراء وووالخ هؤلاء اولا لايمثلون شعوبهم وثانيا لايمثلون الاسلام وثالثا لايمثلون العرب في ابسط توجهات وطموحات واجندة العرب والمسلمين انما هم يمثلون انفسهم ومن غرروا به ليحمل السلاح ويمتهن الارهاب معهم ضد شرفاء العالم وبالتالي على الشعوب الاميريكية والغربية ومن تبعهم ان يعوا ان هؤلاء عملاء صرف للاجنبي وللصهيونية وان مسلمي العالم وعرب العالم هم اشرف وانقى سريرة واطيب اخلاق واحسن سيرة من كل هؤلاء الظلمة الذين شوهوا سمعتهم وسيرتهم في ارجاء الكون لاسباب تافهة هي غايتهم العيش الطفولي التنبل على حساب غيرهم شانهم شان الانظمة الراسمالية الاستعمارية الاستغلالية التي جندتهم لانها وجدت فيهم طينة قذرة تستطيع ان تتلون وفق المكان والزمان الذي تتواجد فيه وان طمعهم ودناءة نفسهم تسهل تاجيرهم وتسخيرهم كعبيد مرتزقة خدم اذلاء بائسين ؟
اذا على هذه الشعوب التي باتت تكن الكراهية لكل مسلم في العالم دون تفريق ولكل عربي في العالم دون تفريق اتكالا على سيرة هؤلاء الاوباش ان تعي وتعلم ان هؤلاء ومن يتبعهم في مسيرتهم النكراء لايمثلون بين شرفاء المسلمين والعرب الا نسبة واحد من المليون وعلى هذه الشعوب ان تعيد النظر افرادا ومؤسسات وحكومات في نظرتهم الى العرب والمسلمين لان العرب والمسلمين الشرفاء اناس مسالمين اباة ثورين حقا ثوريتهم في سبيل تحقيق حريتهم وانعتاقهم من كل جذور الشر جذور الاستغلال يريدون العيش الكريم الامن المستقر في ظل اوطان حرة وفي ظل حياة سعيدة لانفسهم واجيالهم القادمة .
وكفى ارهاب دولة ومؤسسات وافراد شعوب وكراهية ومقت ضد العرب والمسلمين .

I am particularly concerned about the same message appearing over and over after using “delete as spam” over and over. What’s up with this?! When will this issue be resolved?!
