How do you get your members more engaged – Share the Wealth!

In a poll that we’ve been running on Moderator Central for the past several months we asked moderators what was most problematic:

- Getting members more engaged
- Finding the time to make the group successful
- Combating spam and unnecessary posts
- Educating new members about the group

We heard from over 17,000 moderators and just over half of them told us that getting members more engaged is by far the most problematic.

I’d like to put a call out to all of you seasoned moderators to ask you to share tips on what you do to engage your members – share the wealth of your knowledge with the rest of us!

    I’m bugged when I ban a spammer from a group and am informed by Yahoo! that I’ve just banned two or more members. I thought it was against the Yahoo! terms of use and impossible to join as two or more people with different IDs.

    There should be a link at Mod Ventral to Cust. Service to report such abuse. The URL to Cust. Serv. is too long for me(and I suspect others) to remember and Jami told me that she didn’t handle or forward such complaints. It would be nice to have an easy way to report such abuse of Yahoo! groups.
